Hey here is something interesting,
Their is a site www.example.com which is ranking good for a very competitive keyword, and when i check the back links of that site, i see that all the backlinks of that site come from one site.
Now when i open that link to see that anchor text i cannot find the link of this site www.example.com any where in those pages.

can anyone break this secret!

The page might have changed from the time when Google last crawled it. Try checking the cache of that page, you might still see the missing link.

Google often doesn't show all backlinks that they are counting. Try repeating your search on alltheweb.com and see what you find.

only a small, ´random´ proportion of backlinks are shown now by Google. Linkdomain:mydomain.com on yahoo will show you a far more realistic set of backlinks.
