strange pr distribution

Hi ladies & gents, I wonder if you could give a novice your thoughts?

I started building a heavy content site (~20000 pages) in late october (after the last pr update), so until now it has had 0 pr.

The site has two pr7 and six pr6 inbounds pointing at the homepage, so I was expecting/hoping for a pr6 homepage and pr5/4/3 etc as the links descend.

I followed the seo protocol of another similar site so all the link levels are interlinking. The homepage contains 27 similar internal links, several 'disclaimer-type' links at bottom the and a handful of outbounds.

The homepage has been given pr2, the 27 similar internal links have all been given pr3, and most of the handful of disclaimer/contact-type inbounds and external links have been given pr4 to pr7. I'm confused!

The pr7 link did not even have any content on it until today!

Can anyone help me comprehend why the homepage with powerful inbounds is only pr2 and one of 30 or so internal links branching from this pr2, with no content and no other inbound links has been given pr7?

It's a *lyrical-miracle*

(*.com*)!

Thanks in advance,

SJ.

Your'e not the only one seeing this strange PR distribution. In fact a couple of other people have talked about this is the Happy New Year PR updated thread.

Our site we launched about 2 months ago had its homepage go from PR 0 to a 4 and its internal pages (2nd layer) go from PR 0 to a 5. This is crazy! There are no external links pointing to the 2nd layer pages but some good links pointing to the homepage. Surely the homepage should be 5 and the other pages a 4...

Any other guys experiencing the same thing?

I should also point out that I couldn't care less what PR our site has attained - we're still stuck in the sandbox.
