More uses for the "site:" command?

When I search for a keyword using "keyword" I get different results as when I search for "keyword -site:www.domain.org".

For my keyword, the number one and number two sites swap places.

What's the difference? I'm ranked #5 and link to one of the sites. When my site is excluded using "-site:www.domain.org" the site that I don't link to is ranked #1.

It looks like "-site:domain.org" not only takes my site out of the rankings, but might be removing the PR (or link text or theme) benefit that my site is giving to other sites!
