How come some popular websites have no page rank?

I guess I'm not supposed to list any websites, but the 19th most popular site on the Internet, which also happens to be the largest seller of books and items online (I think we all know who it is)...happens to have no Page Rank according to Google's toolbar. It received a 0/10.

Alexa claims that it's the 19th most popular site, but Google's toolbar gives it a 0/10. Any ideas why?

Oh, and the retailer I'm referring to also happens to have the same name as jungle in Africa.

I think you mean South America, and it does have a pagerank but you will find the main page is redirected.

Use some tools to find the pagerank of the main page, if you are interested.

regards,
Mark

There is nothing in the TOS for this site that I find that prevents you from listing the company. So to be clear, you must be referring to the Congo bookseller ...

Perhaps another case of why the PR in the toolbar is unreliable SEO.

It has a pagerank of 8. You need to use a tool to find the pagerank, because there is a redirect when you get to the site.

>I was referring to Amazon.com

I just entered that in my IE. I got redirected to [amazon.com...] No surprise to me the Google Toolbar was gray.
