Getting images out of google image search

I have had:

User-agent: Googlebot-Image
Disallow: /

in my robots.txt since May and still I can find over a hundred images on the G image search from my site.

What am I doing wrong? Or is G just really slow?

The imagebot isn't anywhere near as active as the other ones, and anyway, they already have those images.

If there are photos you really don't want showing up, you could change the file names for them and the associated html coding.

we have images showing up in image search that have been deleted from our homepage/server back in March 2004. 9 months later we still get about 50 referals a day from google image.

At least it's just the thumbnails that G has, eh. If he has photos that he doesn't want found for anti-scooping reasons, then once they're renamed all people will get is a scaled-down version. For sure though, images stay stuck in G searches for eternity, it seems.
