The domain name for one of our sites is in a trademark dispute so we took the content offline about 2 months ago pending resolution of the conflict. At that time the home page was PR6 (toolbar) and the link:command reported 400+ unique backlinks (excluding internal links).

The site is still offline and when I use the link:command Google reports
"Your search - link:www.example.org/ - did not match any documents." Yet toolbar PR still show 6.

Does PR endure longer than Google's record of backlinks?

I would have thought the toolbar would say PR6 until the next big PR update

Gern- you're right - it is still showing PR6 even though there are no pages currently online to index. I guess another quoestion might be when the next BIG update will come. 3 months ago (end Sept.) there was an expectation of a quarterly update. We're entering that "window" again.
