Any problems with ranking using PHP?

I've got a client that insists on using PHP for a site I was going to do in static html, and I'm worried about changing a formula that has been very succesful in the past.

I've never heard anything bad about PHP, but I just want to make sure no one's got any horror story experiences with it.

btw, there won't be any links resembling query strings and such. Just static links with php extensions.

Please let me know your experience.

That will be absolutely fine!

All of our pages are .asp and we dominate SERPs. The extension is not a factor in Google's algorithm as far as I can see.

If you are scared of .php extensions I'm pretty sure you could configure your server to analyse / process .html files using the php executable.

I haven't had a problem with .php personally, but many folks will recommend using .html instead.

But as has been mentioned, you can configure your Apache or IIS server to read .html as a PHP file.
