Anyone have any ideas on how to improve a 35,000+ page site that sells 40 different brand name clothing items? Basically, i have one mission critical brand that I can't seem to rank highly on for the brand name - right now I'm number 15. The site in front of mine are also retail related with similar content.

I have a PR7, good internal link mechanics, heavy anchor rich text links from newspaper and related sites, and I've only cracked #15. My landing page for my keyphrase is perfectly optimized. mydomain.com/my-keyword.htm. What other options are there?

I think you have been on the right track. Having position 15 is already a good sign. One of the possibility that you have not jumped further up is that "not" all of your inbound links are credited for relevancy at this time. IMHO, I will give it a timeframe of 90-180 days.

Use your "anchor text" in a outgoing link to another website or similar webpage. I personally use an image link to my own home page with the keyword(s) in the alt tag and it works the same.

Google also looks at the text in your pages outgoing links as well as your incoming links.

I also tried to just have an image that wasn't linked and that didn't work. When I made it a link, it gave my rankings for that page(s) a boost.

If you are #15 you should move up to at least the top 5 in the results depending on the PR of the pages above you.
