page rank diff from domain home to default.htm

we have built many sites and they all receive page rank, just one question we had and thats on the first entry to the site the address bar reads the domain, when you navigate the site and click back to home it reads ...default.htm and has no page rank. this is easily fixed, but not sure if it will make a difference.

any thoughts?

I believe they are considered to be different URLs:

www.widget.com
www.widget.com/index.htm
www.widget.com/default.htm

As you have links (presumeably) pointing to www.widget.com, that gets the PR and /index.htm, /default.htm are PR0.
