Am I out of the sandbox?

Boy was i surprised today when my site appeared for the fairly un-competitive keyword 'blue widgets location' on position 250 out of 383,000 where as before it was position zilch.

Is this me out of the box? it's close to 6 months to the day I really went for the optimisation although it's been up with links at it for around 9 months.

Another site of mine has also stopped displaying 12 sites with links to my site above my site when i type in the exact site name. Is this a clue?

Ps. Site is No2 in Yahoo and no1 in new msn for the same search

just done an update on the sites content today, see if that lifts me a few more places higher.
