Huge Traffic Increase.... Then Gone

Back around the second week of October my site started seeing an increase in activitiy. I was typically getting about 30 visitors a day. By the end of October I was up about 1500 visitors a day. Then about 10 days ago, the traffic went back to normal.

Just before the increase and during the increase, Googlebot was hitting me hard (still visiting but not quite as much).

What happened and why? I want that traffic back!

Google does change the way it ranks sites quite often. This is not a static proposition.

This is why its wise to look for as many and varied sources of traffic as you can.

I had this a couple of years ago on a site that was thrown togther, all of a sudden amazing amounts of traffic from google way above what the site contents really deserved, then one or a few months later most of it was gone - just like that.

I think most people have been there with one site or another.
