Toggling Text

Not trying to manipulate ranking

I would like to use javascript text toggles in specific areas for my site because it keeps the pages clean and easy to use, and also allows advanced options that are quickly available for those who want them.

For example, I have a directory page that has hunrdeds of listings. I would like to be able to have the users click on some toggle text (narrow results), and then it will toggle down and show a form with detailed search options.

This keeps the pages looking clean and uncluttered, and the users that need the more advanced options, can access them very quickly and easily by toggling.

My concern is whether Google and other search engines would consider that I am trying to hide text on the page and get mistaken for others who do this primarily to inflate their rankings, and have a negative effect on my search engine placement.

Does anyone have any experience or insights about this? I really like the way the toggling can work when it is done well on sites, and hope that I can use it without jeapordizing search engine rankings...
