Sometime in August, Google stopped indexing many of my pages, no longer crawled them either. A few weeks after I noticed that, I e-mailed Google to ask what was going on. Within a day or two from sending the e-mail, Googlebot was back deep-crawling - but the results never returned to the index. Last week, I decided to try the e-mail approach again, asking what I could do to be indexed again. And wouldn't you know, within a few days Googlebot was grabbing hundreds of pages. It doesn't look like it's actually crawling, more reciting pages from memory (many of them have moved since), and none of them have gotten back in the index yet (I'm hoping...). So is this just a coincidence, or does emailing Google help get things moving in the right direction? I received a reply to my first email, but it didn't say much. I haven't received any reply (besides the autoreply) to my recent email.
