Recently (this last week) i've noticed Google has been dropping a lot of pages from one of my site from the SERPS. I guess i haven't been paying too much attention to what's going on with the latest update, other than the number of pages.
Anyway, that number is down from ~26,000 to 16,000 in a matter of just a week. My page rank is still the same, so that is not the issue i think. I was wondering if this is something that has happened to others here?
I just checked my web server logs for Googlebot activity, and it's still fetching pages. Would a ban or something really nasty like that mean Googlebot stops visiting, or could i still be in trouble?
And no, i haven't done anything new, or unethical -- pages/link-structure is untouched.
Ok, if anyone can shed some light it's very welcome. :)
