I have a few sites that for one reason or another have more than one domain name. What I was wondering is how does Google deal with this and what if I have links to both sites, do they add up?
Any ideas?

Make sure you have a permanent redirect set. Many sites have thousands of domains pointing to one site: e.g. major corporations who own all their trademarks as domains.
