My site is about 3 month.
Few days ago it was “awarded” with PR3 on my main link page. Other pages including the home page still have PR0.
Does it mean that my content pages do not rank well
in the field (highly competitive) I target?
Or it means that G only likes pages with external links.
I have few more theories but very much interested in what good people of this forum think.
I have to admit that a 100% correct answer is impossible to give, so here's what I think:
Generally speaking a PR lower than 4 makes it almost impossible to rank for highly competitive terms.
Second thing I'm not too sure about from your post is if your incoming external links come to the link page only or if that's the only page on your site that has outgoing links to external site. But you should always try to get as many links as possible to the pages that should rank well in the SERPs.
The PR on only one subpage could be caused by the time at which Google calculated the PR. The other subpages of your site might just have been out of their time limit for calculating PR and therefore don't show their real value in the toolbar.
I'd suggest you waiting till the next PR update, add more good content to your site and get more links to the pages that should rank high in the SERPs.
