What effect do different Ratios have?

Hi,

Im just curious as to whether or not certain ratios with site content have an affect on site rankings.

For example, if i have a homepage with 10 words. Say for example 5 of these were relevant keyword, 2 were hyperlinks and the final 3 were words like "the" or "and" etc.

The page would, i assume, get ranked quite well in terms of content.

However, what if i had a page with 100 words, 50 were keywords and 20 were links. That leaves 30 words that would include things like "and", "but", "also" etc etc.

Would this have a negative effect on a ranking? It would still be a site just as relevant as the site with 10 words? Would it be ranked as if it were the same?

I hope this makes sense (i found it hard to explain!)
