Google showing mutlilingual domains

Domains with ä, ö, ü now showing correctly in Google

Sorry if I missed a thread about this but today was the first time I saw a domain with special caracters in the SERPS.

Though I am not able to use those domains in my browser Googles shows them correctly, e.g.
www.gädget.de/ - 25k - 14. Sept. 2004

Does this mean that they are also indexing and displaying URL's in languages such as Japanese?

Presumably this means we are gonna have to buy all the dom' names that include accents just to prevent "jacking"...My credit card just had a coronary!

And what are they gonna do about the circumflex ^ ..even the Acadamie Français made the thing optional around 10 years ago ....

And how about Maltese ..some of the weirdest symbols I ever saw in a European language there ..

BTW ..Love the Maltese Islands and People ( not forgetting Gozo ) ( haven't got the symbol for the Gozitan "Z" ) if there are any around .."Saha" ...( think I remembered the spelling )..

It is certainly good to have domains with special characters for a future time but as in most browsers you cannot use them (unless you download a plugin) they are not the best option.

In some years things will probably look differently.
