Dynamic Page Titles and Descriptions not showing up

I have an apparell website that uses dynamic page titles on the category page and the details page. I am getting very good results from Yahoo and MSN from people typing in specific product names and then the page titles corresponding to these keywords.

However, google has never picked up thes page titles. They have quite a few of the pages listed (blahblahblah.php$catid=45), however there are no page titles or descriptions listed with them.

I am wondering why google is not indexing this information. The site is very flat and does not use many levels at all. We do not have very many links from outside websites, so many that is contributing. I just want to know how to get google to pick up some of these product names.

Thanks.

Hi johnlutz,

Welcome to Webmaster World.

The old 'Google lists the url but not the page title or description' is usually symptomatic of one or two things.

One, Google knows that the pages exist, but just hasn't gotten around to spdiering them as yet. About all you can do is wait. While you wait, try to build some more incoming links. Also, G-bot likes change, so you can also try making small changes to pages that are already indexed and link to the unspidered pages in order to coax G-bot into respidering.

Two, Google knows that the pages exist, but is somehow being hindered from spidering them. Check that G-bot isn't inadvertently blocked in robots.txt or some other way from freely accessing these pages.
