Why no title or description with my site listing?

One of my sites disappeared from the SERPS, apparently punished by Google. I couldn't figure out exactly why, but I set up 301 redirects for my other domains, eliminated old pages that could be interpreted as doorways, and switched to another ISP to change IP addresses.

During this punishment time, a Google search for my domain would come up with www.domain.com. No title or description in the listings.

Now it appears I am coming back somewhat. Today I rank Number 20 on a competitive two-word search term. Good news, right? But there is still no title or description associated with my site. In the SERPs it just says www.domain.com.

Why is this? Will Google eventually show a title and description, and is there anything I can do to speed the process?
