My Web site not being listed

Hi,

I'm new to all the forums so sorry if this is in the wrong place.

I've built 2 web sites which are both on line and live. The first [snip] is just for a bar that I've bought in Lanzarote, I've submitted this web site to as many search engine as I could find and got some links to the web site. This has been going on for around 2 months now and I'm getting no PR or getting a higher page ranking.

I've been on some site with scripts to check link popularity but I'm still getting no links on google, am I doing something wrong or does it just take longer than this.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld darkish.

Your site is listed in G and Y. Being listed and ranking are two different things. The current algos are all about links - you need more, you need them to be from quality sites and not guestbooks and the like (for long term site value). Spend some time reading the forums here and you'll learn what you need to know to get better ranks for your site(s).

Cheers for the info, I am linked some some good sites as I do check them from time to time, they sites in question do have good PR as well but it just does not seem to filter down. I'm not after a PR10 site or anything just 1 or 2 would be nice :)
