I've got a client who's rankings are showing up normally in Google's index, but even though I include geographic info in their pages AND they appear in the local return if you search their name and city in the local listings that now appear at the top of Google searches, they do NOT appear if you search a more generic keyword which describes their biz and their city. Other competitor firms do appear in the local listings, even though my client appears well ABOVE those firms in the organic return for the same term.
This leads me to ask where do the local listings come from and how do I expand my client's visibility in those Google Local beta returns?
