question : some months ago our pR was 6 + . it has all of a sudden dropped to 0. we have affilliates who are using our clients brand name to target our traffic . this is a possible motive..

without being a conspiricy nutter what could the other reasona be?

we have no tricks , no redirects , cloaking etc.

please let us know.

A new site, can start with PR5 and after a while get adjusted (usually going down - unless you start with inbound links from day one, adding more constantly).

It might be you got PR6 from 1 or 2 high PR sites that were now downgraded or removed, so you're left with lots of PR1 - PR2 affiliates who provide one big PR0.

>>>what could the other reasona be?

there could be so many, I suggest you hire a competent seo to look at the site for you.Its no good guessing as acting on guesses can do more harm and not leave you any wiser.
About finding a good seo,i cannot help you but try in the comercial exchange forum.

we are in on our url but with an affilliate tag.

this may be a case of affilliates spamming our urls to get their tags in.

is this not a case of selling nikes at the door of a nike factory?

But you ranked before with more than your URL?

If you have the exact same content on www.domain.com as www.domain.com/?1234 but there are three links pointing to www.domain.com and a thousand pointing to www.domain.com/?1234 then Google will likely pick www.domain.com/?1234 as the canonical page and rank that.

Should be easy to detect if you check your main kw SERPs and an affiliate appears.
