Please help, while checking for backlink for my site with link:www.yourdomain.com. I was surprise to see that Google says "Your search - link:www.yourdomain.com - did not match any documents"
Some dayas back the back links for my site was 72, why is it now showing in this way.? I am very surprised with such behaviours of Google in recent days.
Dont you feel, Google is kidding with all of us?
Please comment on this, and let me know what is possible solution I can take up.

<edit>Actually, better example is:-
.yourdomain. -site:www.yourdomain.com
</edit>
It won't of course show every backlink.
Just think about what the search is actually doing (it's looking for .yourdomain. ignoring your domain for the search), and variations on it (anchor text for example) will find most of the others.
If you really want accuracy, the best way to collect backlink data is from your logfiles.
All of these methods using search engines are hit and miss.

Thanks for the reply and tips regarding checking backlinks. As of my site, its not dropped from SERPs and is in top position in G. I was just checking current back links for my site.
I did not get your command .domain. -site:www.widgets.com exactly. Do you mean this is to be used with Google to check back links? Because I got did not match any document whey i tried the above line by replacing my domain information.
Regards.
