I've had two pages optmized and the second page is not showing up on google, it's been a long while already, this page is similar in content to the first page that was optmized,
I fear I am being punished by google - Oye, I've tried to get a hold of the optimizer to no avail
what to do, what to do? Should I just take a stab at this new page myelf - I'm ready ot cry and need help fast!
Page optimization is useful, but only after you have done all of the other important things.
If all your SEO wants to do is optimize pages or create doorways then you should run, run, run!
If you feel like crying, now would be a good time! Once you have got that out of your system look for the honest guys that get paid based upon results achieved and not on some wing & prayer promise ;)
We all have to live and learn, so take a positive view....you have just learnt not to trust a lot of SEO's :)
We have all felt the same at some time but keep on going , listen to good advice from the forum and all the webmasters here and you will not go far wrong.
Sticky me the url too, i wil take a look for you as well.
I learnt to SEO successfully from forums like this one.
To be a successful webmaster there will be a lot of highs and lows.
Bek.
:)
Thanks for your note. Well, I have been getting lots of links over the past year , and have done a great job, I think, in that regard.
No, this seo person did help me, but the second page that he optimized, has some of the same content as the first page and I asked him about that and he said oh , don't worry, that is only1/3 of the page, so google won't penalize you. I don't know, first he put the page up without the title tag, google found it, please, it's been a nightmare, now the title tag is there, but I'm still very much upset .
now that page appears on the second page of google, but that is because I've changed some things on the page,
It sounds like there wasn't really a problem because 1/3 similar content is no big deal. This happens all the time and for legitemate reasons. I would say that some of my sites have 1/3 similar content between pages. Think about the side links and the design these are counted as content too. On pages where there is little content these elements can form a large percentage of the page's overall content.
Sticky me the url's and I can tell for sure but I won't worry about it. There are probably other factors that are coming into play.
