Hi All,

I have been looking at the results from the following searches on google and yahoo.

Google
link: mysite.com
results = x

yahoo
link: mysite.com
results = y (yahoo is a significant amount more)

I was wondering if google is ignoring a lot of links and the ones shown are the ones that count or are they being a bit sneaky? i.e making it tougher to see how some sites are getting pr, rankings etc

I have two high pr inbounds which do not show on google but do in yahoo...

Help! ;)

Kind regards

Jamie

Be sure not to put a space between link: and the URL, or you'll be searching for pages that contain the WORD link, and your URL in TEXT (not as a link).

As to why they are different, it used to be accepted that Google only listed "important" links to your site - the threshold was often cited to be PR4 and above. Recently, there's increasing evidence and agreement that Google simply provides "some" links to your site, probably on the grounds that this feature is used primarily by those trying to optimise their sites!
