will a meta tag "resfresh" incur a penalty?

I am sure that I am losing traffic when visitors misspell my keyword

I am sure that I am losing traffic when visitors misspell my keyword, so I built a page that if they hit it tells them the correct URL, offers a link to that URL and then forwards them to it. Will I get a penalty as a doorway page or something like that? The error page and the corrct page are on the same URL. Thanks in advance.

Although I'm not 100% sure, it's probably better to use a .htaccess or other HTTP based redirect, rather than rely on spiders picking up on a meta refresh.
