I have a domain with a pr of 4 and a low competition
of 4,000
Yet I dont appear in the top 1,000 google results.
for my keyword
I have one link in from linkopdeia.
Others links in from the site itself from pages
on related topics.

All content is original.
No duplication.

Why would I be penalised like this?

How old is your website? How long have you had that PR4? How long have you been invisible for your preferred keyword? How do you perform for other keywords?

Welcome to the club. I began my web design business <snip> about 3 months ago.

To this day I have 1,520 sites coming up when searching for the keyword "ewebdevelopment"

I have 42 backlinks appearing in google.

I'm coming up in the top 20 for my keywords when searching "allinanchor:", "allintext:", and "allintitle:".

On top of this my site is pretty well optimized.

But yet, I am no where in the top 1,000 results.

I have checked other sites that are ranked high. For example if I do the same test on a website that is ranked 900th, my stats are a lot better than theirs.

Only theory I have is that my site could be sandboxed (if the myth is true). Maybe you're inthe same situation - who knows.

put your keyword <snip> as the first of your keywords.
Put it at the start of your <h1>header tag which doesnt contain the word atall.

Also put it near the start of your title line..not the end

Same for description tag

astoller: why would I want to do this? <snip> is not one of my keywords. Nobody is going to go to google, yahoo, etc. and search for <snip>.

The keywords i'm focussing on right now are "profesional web design" and "professional web development".

bbot- do a search for your first keyphrase. The site at the top has a PR8 and 26,700 backlinks. Looks like you have some work to do if you want to be #1 :)

sem4u - yea that is <snip>. They created a page stats counter which is free. Therefore thousands of sites are using this program of theirs, thus giving them thousands of backlinks in return. Very smart idea on their behalf. If you check the other websites bellow <snip> you will see nobody compares to them.

Very smart idea on their behalf.

One of the older tricks, and still very effective. Google only seem to be nuking ones that are bought/sold.

If you have your own with a link back, no problem.

Looking away from the very top competitors, compare my site to the site in the 900's. I should be beating them IMO.
