How do I figure out # of searches for a keyword in Google

Need help getting started with Google.

Hello everyone,

I am pretty new in SEO and want to get my site listed and also want to use Adwords for Google. I just wanted to know how to figure out how to figure out the number of searches a keyword is getting on Google since Google does not have a tool like Overture.

I just recently got WordTracker and want to know if you can use it to figure out the searches on Google and how. I haven't really learned to use it yet.

I've been using Overture with some good results so I am expanding with Google. I really hope I can get the information I am looking for. I really appreciate all the help I can get.

an exact number can not be achieved, although you can find the relative value of a search term (as in how often when compared to other terms) by searching for your most generic one word money term at "Google Adwords Keywords Suggestions". the terms that appear near the top of the list on the left column are searched more often than the ones that appear near the bottom.
