If I let partners include a version of my content by using an iframe on their site, but the pages I provide to their iframe are excluded by me from search engine indexing (through both meta noindex, no follow tags and through robots.txt), there shouldn't be any problem with duplicate content, is that right?
I would assume that because the partner site is displaying pages from my site through their iframe, and the version I provide them is clearly set through meta tags and robots.txt exclusion not to be indexed by Google or other search engines.
So I would have two versions of the same data (my site version of the data, and then the partner site version of the same data provided to the partner in slightly different format), but since the partner content is clearly excluded from indexing, there can be no duplicate content from the search engine point of view, is that right?
I am also able to provide the content in RSS type format, that can be displayed by partners through some javascript code I provide that the partners place on their web page. That tends to be more professional, but is this is more likely to be considered(or confused as)a deceptive practice? As I understand it, Google won't index the content delivered through javascript like this, but I am concerned that it still might get confused as a spamming technique moreso than the iframe method...
Does anyone have any suggestions, comments, or experiences with this, and the best way to go in terms of avoiding any problems with duplicate content from Google (or other major search engines)?
