hi everyone,

we have noticed that google seems to have lost the cache of a load of our sites pages. We did an update on the site and changed a lot of pages a couple of weeks ago and the new pages were cached by google. Last week the pages were showing up for the relevant searches, but when we search now the old pages are coming up.
After finding the pages on google search results and looking at googles cache of them, it seems to have taken a step back and shown the cache for the old pages.

does anyone have any ideas on this one?

cheers

kaled

Normal behaviour for Google.

New pages may not be fully merged into the index for several weeks. This used to occur during the monthly (ish) dance but such updates are (partially at least) consigned to history. Some sort of rolling update occurs for the main index. Backlinks (and possibly other factors) are updated every few weeks.

Just wait,

Kaled.
