DMOZ descriptions in Google searches?

When did this start?

Looking at SERPs this morning I see the normal snippet from the meta description tag, and also (on at least some listings) a description taken from the directory, ala

"Description: Includes information on widgets offers widget sales; widget design services to other..."

Is this new? I don't recall having seen it before.

Certainly gives new weight to a directory listing, especially with a favorable description.
