How do I get indexed by Google News?

We've recently created a news site for a category of politics. Google news indexes a couple of other sites like ours, but there are other sites like ours they have refused to index. How do we get them to index ours? What are the requirements? What do they look for? What do they dislike? I've searched and searched the web and found no info on this.

A while back I asked myself the same question. After I visited the Google news site I found some info on this. It appears you need to contact them directly if you want your content to be added to their list of sources.

If you go to the bottom of the news homepage there is a link "About Google news" that page will give you a contact email address to suggest content.

Thanks but... That link was pretty easy to find. But I would rather not submit the site until I know it meets their requirements. Submitting and being rejected could possibly have the result of locking me out of their indexing forever -- or at least for a long delay.

If some of the more experienced webmasters could share their knowledge of what Google News looks for, then I will ensure we comply, and then I'll submit our site.

Thanks!
