Internal link to www.domain.com or /index.htm

Is there a difference?

I'm wondering if internal pages should link back to the home page to domain.com/index.htm (what Dreamweaver does automatically) or domain.com?

Would there be a difference with regards to PR?

The answer to the question as you make it could be that it makes no difference...

But... if your URL includes one or more keywords that are relevant to your business and you are optimizing the page for those keywords, it would make a difference if you were to use [********xxxxx.com...] or to use ../index.htm, as, every time you use the full URL you would be including keywords in the link and keywords within the URL are given extra relevancy by some search engines (GG included), and you should keep this in mind as optimization is based in balancing all the elements of the page according to SE's algorithms.

Hope this helps.

Whatever you link to whether it be www.domain.com or www.domain.com/index.html or domain.com/index.html, be consistent.

Most people link to www.domain.com when they link to you, so that's what I prefer to use.
