PDA and duplicate content

I have made a PDA friendly section of my main site.
The content is the same as the main site but made "HandheldFriendly".
What precautions should I take to avoid any duplicate content penalty? Should I use robot.txt to push google away?
The main site is www.example.com, whilst the PDA version is in www.example.com/pda/

I would exclude search engine spiders from the /pda version if that just contains duplicate content that is reformatted for PDAs. AFAIK there is no duplicate content penalty, but you will only list for one or other of the duplicate pages.

If you can make the pages different enough, then you can keep both sets of pages up and increase your link popularity by having twice the number of pages. This has been discussed alot for printer friendly pages.
