Keywords not working in Google

Well I submitted a site on Google and infact it is indexed as I can see the url if I type it in search. The problem is, when I am searching it with the Keywords which I have put on Meta Tags, i could not find the listing. Why is it so? Can anyone help?

Google pays minimal (if any) attention to keywords meta tags - it is far more interested in what actually appears on the page.

If you are trying to rank for words in your meta tag that don't appear on the page you have slim to none chance of appearing in the SERPs.

If the words actually appear on the page, then it's a question of optimising your page around them.
