Google bug on 2nd page of results?

Instead of 10 results, Google shows 11

I've been keeping a detailed track of a business phrase (widgets + my country) since January 2004.

Yesterday, I noticed that most last results (10, 20, 30, etc) on most pages were repeated on the next page (11, 21, 31, etc).

Today, I checked closer. It happens that results on first page (top 10) are displayed properly. However, the second page shows 11 results. Result no. 10 is repeated on second page plus the next 11 thru 20.

well you might check your computer. I tried overhere on 3 pc's. All are just normal. Every page just 10 and no repeat.

(tried in mozilla, msie and opera).

I am showing 13 per page. But I think it is some sort of spyware on my pc that is manipulating the serps. I am researching now.

spybot or adaware should do the job nicely.

I think that's normal. That's what happens since the very first day I use google a few years ago. Google help you to same some effort on clicking to the next page.

Don't see the bug anymore.

Nevertheless, I was using IE 6 with all the latest patches. The bug repeated itself all the way through pages 600 plus. I also have the latest Google toolbar.

Didn't check the issue with Mozilla :)

I've also noticed this sometimes, that the top and bottom listing is the same - 11th, 21st, 31st, 41st plus 20th, 30th, 40th, 50th.

I think its the brains withing google doing some internal analysis on the click thrus on various parts of a page. I know other SEs do this from time to time.

I am (most of the time) having the same issue with Webmaster World. The last message on a page is repeated on the top of the next page in multipage threads.

During updates when there are different data on multiple datacenters you can get sent to a different center when you go to the next page and it may have results that were on page 1 on the previous datacenter. Doesn't sound like what you were describing though.

I was seeing the same thing yesterday. I figured it must a google bug. Not seeing the problem today.
