I'm new to webmaster world, and a forum search has failed to turn up the answer I'm interested in. I have read that Google will follow cgi links with limited parameters? How many is limited? And does PR get distributed?

All of the internal links from my homepage are cgi links for handling widget ordering/processing. Data collected over the last year has shown many of the widget pages to be targets of keyword searches. I'm preparing a significant site update and I'd like to ensure that the SEs will follow the cgi links to these widget pages.

Thank you.

Yes, I have a site that is 95% cgi scripts and pages do tern up in serps and have good pr.

It looks something like this: www.mysite.com/cgi-bin/redwidget/name-of-script.pl

It may take longer for the cgi pages to get a good PR but it does work for me.

Hope it helps.

What if the link looks like this?

www.mysite.com/cgi-bin/Web_store/web_store.cgi?page=widgetA_category/widgetA1.html&cart_id=a-unique-number&page_from=widgetA_category.html

Are there too many parameters to the cgi script for the SEs?

Data over the year has proven that the widgetA1.html page in this example is the target of some very nice keyword searches. Unfortunately, the page isn't being indexed by google, has no PR in google and it isn't turning up in any of the serps.

I want to make sure the cgi isn't the problem. If it isn't, I'm doing something else dumb.

I'm not very good in CGI.

But I know that google would crawl, index, pass pr and ranks cgi added paramters url's.

check this one in google

allinurl: cgi+?+=

IMO, there shouldn't be any proble with CGI.

If I'm wrong some one correct me please :-)
