since i can not find an aswer to the missing title and descriptions. How safe is it to remove yourself completely from google and then resubmit?

I would not recommend it with your main site. However, if you have a test site to play with that is exhibiting the same problem, it might be worth trying.

Try updating, if only in a small way, affected pages and hold tight.

I don't think removing then re-including your site will help. I don't claim to have read every thread here but on the google site itself it says in the webmaster FAQ:

"4. There's no description of my site.

The Google index contains two types of pages--fully indexed and partially indexed pages. Your page is currently partially indexed, which means that although we know about your site, our robots have not read all the content on your page(s) in past crawls. This does not adversely affect your PageRank or your inclusion in our index. It does mean that we don't 'know' what to call your page, so it gets listed with the URL as the title and no description."

I take that to mean that googlebot found a link to the "URL only" page on some other page but the googlebot hasn't gotten to it yet. I think the only thing you should do is wait. It appears to me that over time the "URL only" listings become real.

From what I've seen that means you've been banned by Google. Check the sites you are linking to, make sure you have no hidden text etc.

the site currently has hidden text. it was built by consultants to our company who had assured us that this was going to get us better ranking. when i took over i knew this was a no-no, but we were ranking fine and getting good traffic. any suggestions?
