Hi all,

I am new here and this is my first post.
I just googled my name and found that the first 3 results are decisions of domain name disputes by the national arbitration forum against me. After those results google shows links to my homepage.
I don't want my future employer to find out about these decisions. Is there a way to push unwanted search results out of the top 10.
How to do this?

Thanks,
Rodzzz

You can't do this. If this were the case we could all be spending our time damaging our competitors and total anarchy would prevail :)

Sure, it's easy to move those pages down. All you have to do is move any other pages about you up.

The way you move those pages up is to hang around here and so some reading. I sure hope you aren't in too much of a hurry.

[google.com...] to get your site out

If you have problems with the other stuff, I'd suggest contacting the owner of the site. If it fails Google might assist you. GoogleGuy? :)

I had this problem. I just put up a lot of pages about myself, had my friends do the same, got stuff to come up before the negative content. You just use SEO to promote yourself, and that pushes down the negative things.

You must have a very unusual name to get the top three results - Googling my name is a total waste of time.

If the pages are low PR, you may be able to hijack their posns using meta redirects from higher PR pages. It's seriously black-hat but it sounds like that won't concern you.

See [webmasterworld.com...] for a discussion on this subject.

Your innocence is so refreshing!

Tell your future employer you intentionally optomised those pages to the top of google to prove how good you are at SEO.

Don't know how innocent I am, but to be more specific:

I registered MYNAME.COM and put up a bunch of pages about myself. I got my friends to link to those pages using my name as link text. I also got my friends to put up pages with my name in the title to which I linked. I also put up some links to other pages on the Internet that happened to talk about me.

So, I am creating new pages for Google to index and promoting other pages that Google has already indexed. I was able to push down the negative content about me had the first 5-6 results be all positive. Big improvement.

sounds like you're doing what you need to do. As far as removing those other pages or having them moved down, there is nothing you can do.

Heh- My name turns up nothing. To the best of my knowledge I am the only one with my name in the world :-)

I'm doing well for my name, but I've got no competition :) Bunch of people with the same name, but none of them seem to have pages :)

It's been said already, but still, the only way you're going to get those pages out of the top 10 is by getting 10 other pages ahead of them.

Another option is to hope nobody google's you :)
