Google search: "link" vs. "contain the term"

Hi there,

I have one problem which might be easy and obvious to you, but I can't figure it out.

Recently I started linking strategy for my site. I am getting links in directories (I pick out those without redirects) and I have noticed that in some cases Google treats them as links but more often - it is not so. They are just shown when I click the option "find webpages that contain the term", as if they were not linked to my page. What could possibly be the reason for that? Is there a way to avoid or change this?

I would very much appreciate your advice

Google tends to show only links that point from a PR4 or above page, and also only shows a sample of ones from any particular website.

Regardless - you get link credit any if you specifically don't see it.
