Google cache question regarding updated pages

Hello,

I wonder if any of you could help me out with a question i have?

I recently updated a website that I administer. Early this month I changed the entire site and started using dynamic ASP pages.

When I checked yesterday to see whether the new pages had been indexed by Google I found that they had, or at least I thought they had.

Most of the pages seemed to have been indexed, as I entered relevant search terms into Google and found the new pages. When I viewed Google's cache of the pages, all seemed well.

The PageRank of the new pages was 0. The main page (or home page if you like), still had its original PR value of 5, as it was before the update of the site. I assumed that this was because Google had not deep crawled the pages, and therefore not worked out the PR for each page yet. (Please correct me if I'am wrong).

However, when I checked the pages today, they don't appear to be cached by Google anymore. The home page is still cached (in its updated form), but the new pages added are not anymore.

I then entered the same search terms I used yesterday in Google to see if I could find them. No sign of any of the new pages, which is odd because I found them yesterday using the same terms. :(

Does anyone know what's going on here? Have my new pages been deleted from Google's listings for some reason?

thanks for your time.

Hey Micsten,
Google has many datacenters spread thoughout the world. When searching google.com, you will be routed to one of a pool of these datacenters, depending on location worldwide, and this is what creates the inconsistant searches sometimes. It takes time for changes to propagate to all the datacenters, and as of late, it seems to take longer. (Possibley due to the extra billion or so pages it took in a few months ago).

I would not be concerned, in time, all the datacenters will have the data about your new pages.

Just what I may, or may not have learned hanging around here, and watching the different datacenters.

Same thing happened to me about a week and a half ago. I was doing some changes on website from learning some better SEO here. About ten new listings showed up on Google and I was getting excited about the new stuff I learned here. The next day though they were all gone. I am trying to figure out what the problem is. Still waiting. Maybe it's something about the different data centers mentioned here.

Don't count on it.

I Deleted my own post, no value to it, nothing but a flame and served no useful purpose, or offered anything to the forum.
