I can't believe such a big hosting company have to resort to this lame method to get good SERPS in google. I wonder if it is even allowed in the the eyes of google. They have been secretly inserting

<center style="visibility:hidden">
<a href="http://www.aplus.net">Web Hosting</a> ¦
<a href="http://servers.aplus.net">Dedicated Servers</a> ¦
<a href="http://domains.aplus.net">Domain Names</a> by Aplus.net
</center>

to their customers websites which they host to gain PR and backlinks without customers' knowledge. I hope google will ban them soon for employing such unethical method. Doing a back link search will find that they have 17,300 pages link which many of them belong to their customers. They have also employ cloaking so you have to see the html source of the backlinks cache.
