Hi,

The company I work for has recently taken over a large client, and we recently re-designed and built their site.

The site's been live for 3 months and has been crawled by Google, but it has a page rank of absolutely zero.

I am at wits end trying to work out what is wrong .. We have put in place as many amends as we can to make the site more 'search friendly', but nothing seems to work.

Was the old site penalised by Google for some search indiscretion? IS this causing our new site to have a rank of zero. I am struggling to make sense of this ..

Please please please help .. At this stage, SEO firms are telling me this problem could take a minimum of 6 months to fix!

Thanks for any help

Chris

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, Chris.

Before you listen to any SEO company, spend some quality time here reading up so you'll have some of the basics down for yourself. That way you'll be better able to evaluate what you're told. It can take up to 6 months to move up in rankings and get some decent traffic sometimes, especially lately, but not necessarily; it can happen quicker.

Are there any links pointing to the site? It may be PR0 simply because it simply doesn't have enough PR to show any. And even when there are links, it takes a couple of months for the PR to show up.
