Old reliable google, for whatever reason has all but punted us to the moon. We have several pages listed, but they aren't showing up as they were. Yahoo continues yahooing, increasing hits and has shown us what a real value they are, and MSN is steady. Just wanted to let any of you who might also have been disowned by one of our free best friends, to know there are many who have had difficulties. I have no idea what this new algorithm thing is and despite changes and resubmitting pages, we still have no idea what google wants so we can get our old google back.

As you can see by reading around here, tons of people have been hit badly by Google's continuously changing algorithm. You are not alone, but to say you were betrayed? I don't really get that... A SE shouldn't necessarily be loyal, it should try to provide the best possible results, not which webmasters have "deals" with the SE. This makes it unfair to others and provides a monopolistic viewpoint on the results. I think overtime, with the increasing competition in the SE world, the SERPs will try to provide the most relevant results, whether that is your site or not.

Understood and was kidding about any loyalty. We just hope we get them back soon. But if anybody has any solid information as to what are they trying to do and whatever else, let me know.

You're posting in a forum on a site that cloaks, where there is a a rep from Google posting here and there freely and on no other forum, and you are talking about webmasters not having deals with the SE's. LOL ok dude...
Oh might I add a forum that is mod rewritten and ranks all over Google. Maybe not a written deal but a sweet one none the less :)
Depending on who you talk to Google is either great or they smoogle!
Personally, I have been able to find everything I've looked for on Google.
From a business standpoint, we are tech oriented and I've noticed even though we are number 1 for numerous positions on Yahoo and MSN, the referrals from both of them are down to around 5 to 6 % for each and Google is up. For our industry, this tells me that people are migrating to Google.
We have stayed solid all through the ups and downs of the last 6 months. Never had a problem and never really saw any bad spam in our sector.
Is Google perfect, of course not and they never will be. Most people who are happy with Google don’t come to these boards as often as those who are unhappy. The unhappy ones are just more vocal while the happy ones go about doing whatever it is that made Google smile upon them.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and right now Google is a hot 10 in my eyes!
If Google hide behind the opinion excuse for legal purposes and they express that opinion by saying your site is rubbish compared to spammy junk, they cannot expect to be loved by affected webmasters. Furthermore, they cannot expect to be loved by the public if they produce lists of directories instead of relevant sites, etc.
Having said that, my own observations suggest that overall there has been an improvement in the last few weeks. However, experience of the last few months suggest that this may not continue.
Kaled.
In a soccer match in Scotland a player asked the referee, "Ref, if I called you a B*****d would I get sent off?"
The ref said, "Abusing match officials is a sending off offence so, yes, I would send you off."
The player said, "What if I just thought that you were a b*****d?"
The ref said that he could not send anyone off for what they are thinking.
The player said, "OK! I think you're a B****d!" :)
