I launched a new site appx 6 weeks ago.

The only links it has are a few from a web design site and precious few deep links from a several blogs on Livejournal.

It's a web forum with a URL rewrite and a good site map to give the spiders some help.

I was *very* surprised to see Google index 60 pages within a couple weeks.

To date, Google has indexed 206 pages and brings me about 40 unique visitors per day.

Yahoo has 33 pages indexed- and very old versions...prior to the URL rewrite enabling.

Yahoo sends me nobody unless they search for my domain specifically.

In my evaluations of Webtrends and Net Tracker, I see GoogleBot visit every day. MSNBOT comes by at a good clip- but not nearly as much as GoogleBot. Slurp is one lazy spider.

No- I don't run AdSense on my forum. ;)

I never expected to get SERP's so early on from such a low PR site. My new site shows PR5 on toolbar and the web design pages are PR5, 4, and 3 that have links.

I was pretty curious how G woud do with a new site compared to Yahoo. Regardless of my feelings on Google...it sends me free traffic whereas no other engine does.

Google has shown (to me) that it's very agressive in spidering and getting the most up to date pages.

Yahoo seems like the old google when they had the monthly crawls...at best.

Good job on my new site, Google. Thanks for the free traffic. :)
