KWD in relation to page size

Hi
just wondered if anyone knew whether there was any minimum page size before Google hits you for keyword density?

On a small page it is obviously easy to have a very high KWD %.
I have a site based on a single author whose name is also in the domain it's a nightmare trying to keep it down.

Especially with the new algo as it seems anything more than 3% is filtered out completely (although I believe older pages and sites seem unaffected by this)

Any advice or info gratefully received
