Will metarefresh to direct to correct page be ok?

When I published my new site 11 days ago, it had 3 folder names with spaces (plus some image folder names with spaces too.) Since I corrected the folder names, substituting underscores for spaces, over half my hits are for the custom 404 error page. It seems that Google had indexed at least part of my site, so none of the links to the pages in these 3 folders work from Google.

My host server doesn't support a 301 redirect, and apparently Front Page doesn't either. If I import the old folders and pages from a backup copy and put a "page has moved" metarefresh tag on each of these, directing the viewer to the same page in the correctly named folder, will Google interpret this as spam? I don't want the solution to be worse than the problem.

Will greatly appreciate any help with this.

Considering that your site is only 11 days old, I think you're much better off forgetting about the redirect pages and letting your incorrect pages fall out of the index, which they should do within a month. Otherwise, you'd be perpetuating problems using the redirects.

OK, thanks. That makes sense. I seem to overreact to every little glitch with the site as if it were life or death. Need to get over this and relax. This is a long term project.
