Q: How does Googlebot interpret DHTML menus?

Could it be misinterpreted and penalized?

I'm planning a new site and thinking of using a DHTML top navigation system that will show the sub-navigational items when the visitor hovers on the main navigational links.

My concern is that I want Googlebot to see those links, at least the main ones, and not have my site be seen as some spam site trying to hide text.

Does anyone have experience/knowledge with this or know what is the right way to do it?
