new pages indexed but, can't be found in serp's

What i am saying is, I have some new sites that are well SEO'd title/page and they are almost nowhere to be found. Just as a example, I would have to put in the whole title in the google search box to see the page in the serp (10 words or more) and on "alot" of pages "That" doesn't even bring up the page. Am I alone in this?andyone Have the same prob? Later.

ya, sounds like a simple case of not enough seo teeco. (eg: get links dude, get links)

Thanks for your reply Brett but, i "do" have links going to (the index pages only) but the sites are big (thousands of pages) and there is a few thousand pages in rightnow. Are for SEO, that how I make a living so I think I know what works and what doesn't, this seems to be something new with google. Anyone else have this prob?

Are you trying to find yourself for a city term?
Could it be that your site is filtered?

I've done some research and found that this is normal and happens to everyone. Your rankings should pop back up to the top when things settle in a few days. It seems to be that everone is at the mercy of google - me included. reality bites

For what it's worth, I have a new site which has had several pages indexed in Google since early February. For several weeks some of the pages were #1 and 2 on their phrases, but a couple of days ago my traffic dropped to 5% of what is has been - the pages have unaccountably slipped way down. I'm doing nothing for the time being, assuming it's either birth pains or one of Google's typical moods.

I have a new site with the same symptons launched on the 9th February.

Links from PR 5+ sites. Not many pages but a useful application, used and bookmarked by the visitors that appear.

The site does not appear in the serps. Except for "www.example.com" type searches.

Other symptons:

PR 0 - not grey but 0
No Backlinks credited
New domain name
No ODP listing - still waiting
Some similar content - but not duplicate.

The pages on which the site is linked have all been freshened since the 9th.

Anyone else? please post some stats/facts as above - maybe it will help find the common thread/causes.

I'm used to waiting a while for the SE's to pick up new sites, but am hoping for some change soon.

I've just had a new site (launched mid Feb) crawled and indexed this week, but isn't getting ANY traffic at all from Google.

It has 3-4 good PR backlinks, good internal linking structure, very clean site with plenty of content on each page.

I understand you can't expect miracles with new sites, but it should be getting a bit of traffic right?

I emailed Google who just replied with a canned reply.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yep, still no traffic on the new site though now PR4. Does appear in serps for very obscure searches though. Just a case of waiting I fear.

Site launched quite a few weeks ago, lots of links, PR of 6 but absolutly no google traffic although over 1500 pages indexed in the last 2 weeks. Wouldn't have worried in the past with the traditional google updates but something this time is making me slightly nervous.

I went through this with a site we launched in Decemeber, we had PR5 and 100's of decent backlinks but you couldnt find us without a www.domain.com search. Eventually we started to show up for 3 kw combos, and then last month for 2 kw combos. I think it just takes time.

What you guys might need to look at is do you have another site with a similar theme already ranking in the serps?
If you put up a new site about "widgets" and link to it from your other sites one which happens to be about "widgets" its quite possible that google will index it and even give it pr but will not place it in the serps.If google connects the nest as belonging to you it will only show 2 pages at the most from your sites about "widgets".

Just updated our site, made the switch from table based design to style sheets, total re-design all new up-to-date content - were a small company with a site of around 100 pages! are orginal site wasnt optimised in any way, and as such we didnt generate much traffic but the new site we took some time to do some research learn a few things from competitors sites!

site was entirely crawled last week, google has found every one of our pages, we also have two backlinks one from a PR4 site related to our area, and another site PR5 which is related to what we promote on te site so we've covered both sides,

i just wonder what effect this will have on us, we've totally disappered from google at the moment and the old site is still doing very well in yahoo and in msn!

its a waiting game, we waited three weeks for google to crawl, one week it didnt appear at all!

you just cant tell, so may factors to take into account you just have to do what you can not too much not too little!

That would be it, to a machine the subject matter would look similar but in human terms is two totally different things. Is it a temp thing or something that will always happen?

This seems to be part of the algo at the moment.

I have a site that's been fully indexed for several months, but mostly stagnant until the past 3 weeks, in which time I've done a full redesign and added lots of new content. I've also added lots of links to the site. The index page and subdomain index pages were finally crawled last week, and some of those pages changed in the index and even started showing up for their target phrases, albeit very low. Now, a few days later, the newly crawled pages have reverted to their previous state in the index. Its like the freshbot behavior of a year ago, when on-page changes would only be temporarily considered after a freshbot crawl.

I'm not the kind of alarmist who treats every nuance as a drastic change, but clearly something is now different about crawling/indexing behavior. Hopefully its a temporary change, because I don't see a greater indexing latency benefitting anyone.

Well in my case, it isn't a similar theme to my other sites.

I am getting trickles of traffic - about 3-4 referrals per day on obscure terms or very uncompetitive terms. Nothing like the site should be getting though. :(

Disagree with the related site link theory (has very targeted link from related page).

I think it is either age based OR due to similar content.

Eg. check similar pages - do you have an existing site doing well in the serp's? That is similar to your new site?

I'm speculating that the older site (with similar content) is masking the new site... is this a common thread to sites seeing these symptons?

Putting in a 301 redirect and hoping it works out! (was worried about losing my rankings if I did this before)

For those of you affected by this (off the radar rankings for new sites), do you have any PR showing in the toolbar?

In my case, about 10 of the 100 pages have PR 4 showing in the toolbar. The other pages have PR 0 (white bar) because I think they just missed out on the recent PR / backlinks update.

Could this be the reason or is it the "real" PR which is important (ie the one we can't see )?

I have the same problem. I created new web site and launched it approximately in the end of February. At this moment about 350 links (Google has found only 4) and after update I got PageRank5. But I'm in the same situation: there is NO TRAFFIC from google. I can find my pages in SERP only entering 5-6 words contained keywords.

I think that we should wait for next Google update to be able to find our sites in Google.

I have a theory but its probably wrong... it could explain why your results do not appear in the SERPS.
